The Pittsburgh Heart, Lung, and Blood Vascular Medicine Institute (HLBVMI) Small Animal Ultrasonography Core provides researchers with access to expertise and cutting-edge high-frequency ultrasound instrumentation that enables non-invasive, in vivo, real time, high resolution imaging of tissue function and structure.

The facility houses  the state-of-the-art Fuji/Visualsonics Vevo 3100 preclinical micro-ultrasound imaging platform, which is capable of high frame rates and advanced imaging processing. Consultation meetings and expert guidance are provided to discuss research plans, imaging needs, and categories of services.
